Jordan Taylor Fighting Through Shooting Slump, Insists He's Fully Recovered From Ankle Surgery

Dec 13, 2011 2:50 PM

Jordan Taylor has no plans to become timid despite shooting just 30.2% from three-point range and 36.0% overall.

"I'm just going to keep shooting," Wisconsin's senior point guard said. "You've got to shoot until you get hot.

"Then if you get hot, keep shooting. But at the same time you've got to take good shots."

Taylor said he isn't hampered by the July 29 surgery on his right ankle, surgery that sidelined him for about 6½ weeks.

"No, I'm good," he said. "I'm good."

Wisconsin, Taylor Feeling Effects Of Leuer's Departure

Dec 6, 2011 3:27 AM

Jordan Taylor's usage rate is lower than season, as is his efficiency. Because Wisconsin is missing Jon Leuer following graduation, Taylor doesn't have a reliable running mate.

Leuer averaged 18.3 points and could also be a go-to-guy when Wisconsin needed a basket in end-game or end-clock situations.

Jared Berggren and Ben Brust have been Wisconsin's primary second options.

Wisconsin ranks last in the country in the number of points it gets from the foul line. Only 10.2 percent of the Badgers’ points are the result of free throws.

Jordan Taylor Struggling To Score On Isolation Plays

Dec 4, 2011 8:27 PM

Last season, Jordan Taylor was a killer in isolation plays; according to Synergy Sports Technology, isos accounted for 30.5 percent of his possessions, and he averaged 1.023 points on those possessions.

This season, with him lacking a great pick-and-pop target like Keaton Nankivil or Jon Leuer (who both graduated), Taylor has relied even more on isos, with them jumping to 35.5 percent of his arsenal, but he's scoring just 0.636 points on those possessions.

Jordan Taylor led Wisconsin with 18 points, but needed 20 shots and went 3-for-11 from distance.
